I just downloaded the latest release of UltraEdit.

After completing a search in all files in directory, the output window pops up.

In my old release (9.20b) I didn't get any of those yellow tooltips when I moved my cursor over the items in the output window. Now I do.

How do I make them go away?

(I couldn't find an appropriate setting in the configuration dialog.)

That's a good question. The tooltips only display for output text that runs longer than the horizontal width of the window. When you have a lot of text that does that it gets quite "noisy" for the tooltips to display when you hover over each line.

Seems like a good idea for an option (to disable the tooltip) in the context menu for the Output Window. I suggest you email IDM and make such a suggestion for a future release.

Ian said that there actually is a setting. Edit uedit32.ini: Add "Allow List Tips=0" (no quotes) to the [Settings] section. Close, then reopen the program. Voila! :)

Ah! Looks like that INI setting isn't documented.

            Thanks,

PS: In newer versions of UltraEdit the setting can be toggled within UltraEdit. Just click with right mouse button into the output window and click with left mouse button on context menu item Show Tool tips to reverse current state.
