    I'm using UC 15.0.0.1006
    I'm pretty sure that at one time, the active line window showed the difference in the active line.
    This was especially useful if the difference was in whitespace, especially if a space was 0x20 in one file and 0xA0 in the other.

    Is there a way to make the display in the active line window show the characters that don't match?

    If not, please consider this a feature request.

      This is most likely a bug in UC 15.0.0.1006. I've reported a few issues with it over time, all of which IDM support have confirmed. I'm currently testing the beta release for UC 15.10.0.4, which contains a long list of fixes. The active line window, when open, does display differences correctly, including white space.
