F3 searches not for selected text as configured

F3 searches not for selected text as configured

In the last program version, I was able to just double-click on a word and then press F3 and it would search for that word. Now, this occasionally works but often will only search for the last word that I typed in the search box instead. Can anyone confirm this, and is this where I should post such a bug?

But first check your find settings at Advanced - Configuration - Find. See help for details.

I checked and, yes, it is set to "Find selected text". Thanks.

Solution: I emailed IDM and got the following solution (It's not really a bug afterall).

Do you have Regular Expressions selected in the Find dialog? If so, then UltraEdit will search for the last entered word rather than the selected text to avoid matching only a subset of a regular expression.

Which is also pointed out in the help about Find.

I'm really shocked about how many questions are asked here (and with email to IDM) about things, which are described in the program help.

I don't have written the answer, which you now got from IDM, because I wanted to check, if users read the help, if I write see help of UE - obviously not.

I think, the RFM problem is really a big one for whole mankind (RFM = Read Fucking Manual).

Cool down. Point taken. Afterall, I was trying to help out by reporting a possible bug and the help wasn't very clear.
