I am looking to purchase a new editor and UltraEdit seems to be the best value solution. I'm trying out the latest demo of UE.

The only thing I cannot figure out is how to set the white-space colour for an embedded language in an HTML page such as PHP or ASP. SlickEdit does this easily (but is out of my price range). I tried out the recommendations mentioned in a PHP posting on this forum, but cannot get the white-space to take on a standard background for the embedded language(VBScript). i.e. I can get a standard colour behind any text present, just not able to get it applied to the remaining embedded white-space.

Can anyone direct me to a solution?

    Many thanks

Without testing what I'm writing here try following.
      1. Open Advanced - Configuration - Editor Display - Syntax Highlighting.
      2. Select the Language PHP.
      3. Uncheck the setting Background color automatic.
      4. Specify now the background color you want for Normal Text of language PHP.
      5. Redo step 3 and 4 for all Color Groups of language PHP
      6. Close the configuration dialog with button OK.
I hope, this results in the highlighting you want.
