When I do simple edits from within UC (delete lines, add CR mostly) UC seems to auto-refresh.

Thank you for your message. I am sorry for any frustration you may have experienced.
There isn't a way to turn off the automatic compare refresh currently after an edit. It happens 6 seconds after any editing is performed in order to give more recent accurate results based on changes that have been made.
I've put in a request in our tracking system to consider adding an option to turn this feature off. We'll let you know when an updated build is released that adds this option.
