Currently, I have to click into the (sub-) window in order gain focus (eg. select text, scroll, etc).
Is it possible that just by bringing my mouse pointer into the (sub-) window, I can scroll it using the mouse's wheel?

      Hi,

hmmm, this is more a WINDOWS issue....

I think there is a TWEAK-UI option (in Microsofts free Powertoy-tools, see there) that can do this "Unix-feature".
I don't know if it also works IN MDI-applications like UE too ...
      Try it out.

Tweak-UI works for explorer.exe (ie. Window's GUI shell), not inside an application.

then the only alternative is to redefine the Ctrl-F6 "next window" on an easy keyboard-combination...
but this is not what you want.

          no go there ...

What are your sub windows? There are already key assignments for setting the focus from edit window to output window, function list and file tree view and back to edit window which could help you.

But I think scrolling in a window without setting the focus to the window is really currently not support by UltraEdit because it is not Windows standard and must be realized by the developers of IDM.
Best regards from an UC/UE/UES for Windows user from Austria

I want focus on the window but just by locating the mouse pointer over it not by clicking the pointer into it.
As I said above, Tweak-UI does it for explorer.exe (ie. Window's shell), so I want the same in UE.

                Hi dude,

Mofi just asked what you mean with a window, cause you did not define it detailed enough.
Now we know that "with Window" you mean a document inside UE, and you have many of them open, say "underneath each other".

Only solution: Write to IDM support, if they want to implement it by an option.

You might try FreeWheel - quite an old utility, but still works on XP; it allows to scroll the window underneath the mouse pointer, which works inside applications' sub-windows, too - such as Windows Explorer's tree, or UE's text/output/function windows (though not in a split UE text window, i.e. a window showing different parts of the same file).

I suggested IDM add X-mouse activation to UE a long time ago, but nothing ever came of it. I'd like middle mouse button pasting too (automatically using one of the user clipboards maybe) but I assume that is also way down on the priority list.
