- Hi, I've searched around and found lots of info about configuration items, and how to deal with Unix line ending type. But I found nothing about how to save an existing .sh file with DOS line endings as a Unix file. The UltraEdit Wiki page Converting file encoding describes multiple conversion opti...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- Wow. I NEVER noticed that option on the bottom. I always thought it was some configuration item, or a format item. Perfect. Thanks, Mofi.Posted in Editor Display

- Hi, I looked in Editor Display, and can't locate this setting. Some of the code I'm viewing contains some box and line drawing characters, like corners and vertical and horizontal lines. But it's displaying as uninterpreted ASCII codes, like ÀÄÄ instead of └── . How do I tell UltraEdit/UEStudio to ...Posted in Editor Display

- Yeah, I did the advanced search, selected Search for all terms or use query as entered , and still got too many results. Anyway, thanks for the link, will try the parameters.Posted in Editor Display

- Hi, I think I chanced upon this the other day, somehow throwing a document window into a separate UltraEdit window, but haven't been able to retrace the steps. And unfortunately, searches for 'new window' in both the help file and the forum, return separate instances of 'new' and 'window'. So the qu...Posted in Editor Display

- What mrhodes described, regarding Webroot, was indeed the problem. I had searched around for months, trying to figure this out, and sometimes apparently succeeding, only to see it recur. It eventually 'fixed itself', probably after a Webroot upgrade. But then started happening again, this year. Fort...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- Please do not replace basic core functionality such as Keyboard shortcuts for Find/Find Next with a "new feature" such as quickfind. Why not use an unsused keyboard shortcut for the new feature instead or replacing a commonly used keyboard shortcut? And why have a separate buffer for Find and Quick...Posted in Find/Replace/Regular Expressions

- In case anyone's monitoring this topic and has similar problems, I just noticed something very interesting. I thought it might be partly due to Google Chrome, so I tried working without it this morning, not bringing it up at all. Same thing - when the PC first booted up, copying and pasting into Ult...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- Hi Mofi, I just noticed your comments. This happens on 2 separate Windows 7 PCs. So while it might both be due to a bad driver, it's unlikely to be a hardware problem. Yes, I've been trying to determine which application seems to be invoking an automatic conversion to oem, while at the same time cle...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- Haven't been able to find anything that tells Windows not to default to OEM text, but here's a workaround for the problem. If anyone has a problem with pasting in UltraEdit, specifically that Pasting elsewhere (e.g. in Notepad or Word or another text editor) works, but attempting to Paste in UltraEd...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- Hi, The sporadic pasting-in-Ultraedit problem seems to be related to what format Windows selects, when taking in contents for the clipboard. Using ClipSpy http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/168/ClipSpy to monitor those cases where the Paste is not working, Windows seems to be copying in a CF_OEMTEX...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- Have not been able to resolve this. Only one keyboard layout defined. No special Clipboard manager active. Paste, in UltraEdit, simply does not work anymore, not even sometimes. But even more than that, it seems to disable Undo. In other words, with the Windows Clipboard active, if I cut from UltraE...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion
