Yes, you are missing the idea that I am going to the ftp/sftp browser, not opening a file through ftp. Try this: File -> FTP -> FTP/SFTP Browser. This opens a completely different window - hence my question about being able to run the browser stand-alone.

Are you talking about local files or files opened up over ftp? I can get both files to reopen as expected. What version are you running? The workaround was to add a context menu entry for all programs, which use .prj files and set the most needed one as default. The default association is activated by double clicking on the file.
