- I use UEX on RHEL 5 via Cygwin/X and also cannot copy from UEX back to Windows. If I want to do this so I can paste into an Outlook email I end up opening the file in Nedit. Copying from UEX to Windows has worked once or twice but I can never figure out what sequence of events made it work. I don't ...Posted in UEX General Discussion

- I just installed the UEx beta and the few icons I use are awful. Some like cut/copy/paste aren't awful, but aren't better either so just being different is a negative. Though I'm sure I'll get used to them. The bookmark icons aren't easily distinguishable from each other and I can't even tell what t...Posted in Editor Display

- edit|preferences then along the top there is "Key Mapping". Then check the sort box to put them in alphabetical order. I set Bottom of File to Ctrl + END, End of Line to END, Start of Line to HOME, and Top of File to Ctrl + HOME.Posted in UEX General Discussion

- Did anyone else have their home and end keys stop working after upgrading? I think I was previously using 1.2.0.0. Edit 20 minutes later: I found the key mappings to make them work, but it's weird that a new version would break such basic mappings. Thanks.Posted in UEX General Discussion

- I got the error about ipm_bottom.html with the beta, but don't think I've seen it with the release version. I had reported this during the beta process. Even when I did see it there was no problem caused by the error. It was only an annoyance. The error is a result of the rpm version expecting to be...Posted in UEX General Discussion

- For Red Hat 4 I use the rpm and extract the files rather than installing the RPM. If you have a Windows machine you can use PeaZip to extract the files. I'm not sure if this runs on Linux. On Linux I used Alien. http://kitenet.net/~joey/code/alien/ cd to the alien.pl directory and copy rpm there. ./...Posted in UEX General Discussion

- I'm still at version 14 and the function list being in a separate thread makes a huge difference for large files. Of course that assumes the large files are in a known language and not plain text, in which case there is no function list. So 14 and 15 should be much faster than 10 for files that aren...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- UEStudio '09 and UltraEdit v15.00 and later support quick tiling document windows vertically and horizontally, see the power tip Vertical & Horizontal Split Window . The power tip has not a good title because the document area is split and not a document window. The power tip is about how to arrange...Posted in Editor Display

- I don't use UEStudio so I can't tell you how to setup intellitips, etc. but to work with Unix files all you need to do is load the files directly via a samba share or map the drive.Posted in Workspace Management

- I love that find in files now runs in the background, but I started a particularly long search and want to stop it. How do I do this? Thanks.Posted in Find/Replace/Regular Expressions

- Another thing you might want to consider is turning off file change detection. At times when the network was busy this would slow switching files to a crawl.Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion
