Installed fine for me (64 bit Ubuntu 16.04 with all the latest updates). gksudo appears to be installed on my machine. Cannot comment on how it got on there though. If you want me to check anything I'd be happy to help.

Extend it yourself: Advanced->Settings->Editor Display->Syntax Highlighting->Choose javascript from the Installed Wordfiles drop down and click the open button next to it. The contents are fairly self explanatory for the most part and there's always the help if you need it.

I think the supplied javascript wordfile also supports typescript i.e. it recognises the .ts extension and seems to contain at least some of the typescript extensions.

I bet if the IDM guys had your files they could solve it. Any way to obfuscate them and send them to IDM for them to try to reproduce the bug and fix it?

Which programming language files are you using? e.g. C, Java I have some Java code open and the string literals in there are highlighted as I would expect.

I've not seen a compare tool which can. UltraCompare and Beyond Compare both fail to detect that Test 2 has moved. Is there something which can? That'd be pretty cool.

Yep, I've tried this out and it does exactly what I wanted. The UltraEdit team listen and act on user requests for sure. Great stuff.

Depending on what you do in Visual Studio, the out the box experience of UES will probably be sorely lacking, e.g. Support for Visual Studio Projects only goes up to Visual Studio 2010 so that's well out of date. Yep, I'm in. Using a Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 more and more. Lovely device when using apps that are designed for it. Not sure that, even with touch support, I could do very much text editing on it though.
