- I am very *astonished* to know that UE Studio is becoming an IDE! I have been trying many open source IDEs for C/C++ development, but none of them satisify me - they all lack something in some ways. I just took the tour of UE Studio and am very impressed with the new features. But I got one question...Posted in Build / Compile / Debug

- Another vote (actually 2 years ago I made suggestions that current UE GUI is very 'primitive'). But I will wait for IDM to decide.Posted in Editor Display

- Just tried the tool configuration. It works fine, except I get short pathname. I hate short patnames because it has ~ in its name. My personal opinion about ~ is it is very ugly (thanks to m$ guy for this great idea). Is there a way to get long pathname of current edit file?Posted in Custom User Tools/Tool Configuration

- That solves the problem. But actually Show File in Browser in UE should be called Shell Run, because it uses ShellExecute to let Windows to run or open the file as appropriate, just as you do in Windows Explorer. For example, if the file is HTML, then it launches the default Web browser; it it is .t...Posted in Custom User Tools/Tool Configuration

- I have been playing with Linux for about 1 year. During this period, I tried many editors the Linux community has to offer. To name a fiew, Vim, emacs, xemacs, gedit, nedt, kate, SciTE, jEdit (and maybe otheres), but none of them can satisfy my editing need. They either lack some features or are clu...Posted in UEX General Discussion

- Like everything, putting all syntax settings in one big file has disadvantages. I think it would be better to have a subfolder in UE folder, say 'syntax', and all files in this folder are syntax files - one file for one language. Thus, it is very easy to maintain them. The View As list should be ord...Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- Using UE 11.0, when I try to open a text file via a shortcut (.lnk file), it is very surprising that UE opens the .lnk file instead of the file it links to. I don't like this change in standard behavior. It used to opening the linked file and that's what we all get used to! Is there an option to cha...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- Maybe I am too stupid to delete the Advanced toolbar configuration. Now I only have the Basic one. When I try View/Lists/Toolbars/Show all, nothing happens. How can I get it back? I don't want to restore to the DEFAULT settings, because I have spent much time customizing my toolbars. Thanks.Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- To understhand what I mean, follow these steps: 1. Open an HTML file (best one that can fill more than 1 page). 2. Run HTML Tidy with Generate Tidy Document checked. 3. Now try to drag the vertical scrollbar. 4. You will see the text disappears. :roll:Posted in Custom User Tools/Tool Configuration

- Yeah. There are lots of nice guys there who provide precompiled binaries for open source projects - free. I am a developer; I like build things on my own. 8) And I always get the latest. :DPosted in Custom User Tools/Tool Configuration

- To Manni: I meant I updated tidylib.dll in UltraEdit installation directory. I downloaded the source code from http://tidy.sf.net and built it using m$ Visusal Studio 2003. If you are interested in building the latest version and don't have m$ VS, you can try MinGW (http://www.mingw.org); it's FREE....Posted in Custom User Tools/Tool Configuration
