- Hmm, UPX compression offers nothing in terms of UE startup lag. Actually, upx increases app load time due to decompression overhead.Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- I should mention that I also upgraded to Vista at the same time I upgraded to v13, so maybe it's related to Vista, but I'd think it should still work. Hmm, it seems that you've just discovered one more bug of UltraEdit's UTF-8 implementation. BTW it is not related to Vista, same problem exists on X...Posted in Scripts

- My own wishes: Less UTF-8 bugs: UE still has so many issues with non-Latin utf8 docs. Better performance: UE perform much slower than the monster SlickEdit. SSH terminal: It never worked correctly for me. So my wish is simple, fix it or drop it making UE smaller and faster. I could list a huge wishl...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- Although I cannot reproduce this problem right now, I'm aware of it. I've noticed that many times when I was editing UTF-8 non-latin files. BTW that never happens with other (single byte) encodings.Posted in UEStudio General Discussion

- Unfortunately, Apache modifies file access timestamp thus UE detects that as a file-change event. The only fix is to disable UE "File Change Detection". A second editor I'm using, Epsilon, uses a much more flexible approach to this issue. It has an option to independently disable file change detecti...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- As Mofi said, this is an old unfixed bug. Unfortunately both UE and UES have many more Unicode related bugs still existed in latest builds. Some of them have been reported by me, months ago, confirmed by IDM but still unfixed. I'm very very disappointed...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- UE doesn't support it as a native mouse API call, it is SetPoint that emulates "autoscroll". Anyway I'm glad it works for you :)Posted in UEStudio General Discussion

- Currently, there is no such an option in UE12. Many users, including myself, have suggested this to IDM and I hope it will be implemented really soon.Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- Thank you all for your efforts to make UE even better. There are many things still missing though. Please consider some of the following suggestions... 1. ISO-8859-xx encoded files support 2. Undo/Redo in hex mode 3. An option to lock toolbars in place 4. An option to save dialogs position 5. Shared...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- If you have another editor that supports extended (ISO) encodings then you can save your UltraEdit project as Unicode, import it from the other editor and finally change the encoding to whatever you want. I did that using Dreamweaver and worked. Not the best method though. I always wondered why IDM ...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- Unfortunately UltraEdit doesn't support user selectable file encoding. I have to use a different editor for my web work, only because of this limitation. I've suggested this to IDM developers, many times. They've told me that will investigate the possibility of implementing this in a future update. ...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings
