- I just sent an email. Thank you. Update: UltraEdit support has reproduced the issue and I'm hopeful it will get corrected. Thank you for the replies.Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- I'm just talking about the fact that each time I run UltraEdit, it re-opens files that it should not. I do have the option to re-open files enabled, but even if I close all files and then close UE, it re-opens files when I launch it, because "HKCU\SOFTWARE\IDM Computer Solutions\UltraEdit\Open Files...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- I have no ue.vod file, and the remainder of the steps didn't resolve the issue for me. I had open file data stored in ue.ini for some reason, and removed it, to no avail. The only thing that made a difference was manually clearing HKCU\SOFTWARE\IDM Computer Solutions\UltraEdit\Open Files . But the p...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- I'm running UltraEdit 27.00.0.94 which is the latest available as I write this. My OS is Windows 10 Pro x64 2004. Under Configuration > File handling > Session options , I have enabled Reload files previously open on startup . The problem is that each time I launch UE, file tabs re-open which were n...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- Interesting topic. I encounter a lot of things I don't like, too. I have always just moved on. But whatever. I've tried all the other text editors. I got fed up with UE's slowness about a year ago and tried them all again. I actually bought another one in part because it was lightning fast. ... But ...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- More thread archeology. I'm running UE 21.30 and can't believe that Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab cannot be assigned to switch between tabs. (I could have sworn I used to switch between tabs using those keys, though.) I use Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab in every other application... Every browser I use,...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- Thank you, but I tried diagnosing the slow startup with Process Monitor before. It happened to be a waste of time. Maybe useful info was there, but it was so buried and so obscure that I couldn't decipher it. Until I'm on the IDM payroll, I'll either revert to an old version (again!), or switch to a...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- The latest 13.0 was pretty good with regard to startup speed. Then, I made the mistake of updating to 13.10. Now, I'm back to 6- or 7-second startup times. I'm not going to waste my time UPX packing the executable. None of the other tricks suggested previously have worked. I am so, so, SO tired of t...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- Is it me, or is Maximum Number of Backups not respected? In configuration under file handling -> backup I have Version Backup set to On Save with Maximum Number of Backups at 10. As I save my backup files far exceed 10 versions. Am I just using it wrong? or making wrong assumptions about how it sho...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings
