- Believe me. I have spent 30 minutes this morning to get UltraEdit working in a multi-user environment on Windows XP. I have a set of ini, uek, and whatnot files in the administrators APPDATA directory. UltraEdit doesn't give a f* and will use the Windows directory although I made sure to delete all ...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- The Windows directory should be off-limits for any application. If you want to share settings among all users, you can use the "All Users" directory under the %APPDATA% directory. UltraEdit (at least v12.20 and above) do NOT work as advertised in the help file. Just before I encountered this thread...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- I get the same error after transferring Ultraedit to a new pc. I'm using the same version of ultraedit as I did on the old machine, so I guess it's not a problem with discontinued commands or version compatibility in general. Any news from you guys?Posted in Macros

- Thanks Paul. At first I thought you were trying to fool us as the first diffs I found were 'Anteroom' instead of 'AnsiToOem' and 'Acetonic' instead of 'ASCIIToUnicode'. But it seems that it was just somebody's spell checker being a bit too good. The updated files are at the original URLs.Posted in Macros

- I don't think that this can currently be done. But it would be really nice. In fact, I have setup several account in UE for just one real FTP account just to cut down on the time I spend navigating the FTP dialog. ManniPosted in FTP/SFTP / SSH/Telnet

- Hi! Some of you may remember that I once posted a chm file containing the list of UE macro commands in a nicely indexed form. I have now updated the file to contain all the macros supported in UE 11. You can find the zipped up chm file here: http://manni-heumann.de/macro_ref_chm.zip The html version...Posted in Macros

- Cool. Your trick worked for the time. To make the date come out correct, I had to adjust the offsets: SET FLT=%time: =0% COPY %1 "%1.%date:~9,4%-%date:~3,2%-%date:~6,2%_%FLT:~0,2%-%FLT:~3,2%-%FLT:~6,2%_%FLT:~9,2%.bak" Fortunately, there now is a RunTool command in the UE macro language. Thus a tiny ...Posted in Macros

- P.S. Would be nice have some input if it works or not on non English with non American time format. Sure. First of all: This seems to be a very elegant solution. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me on W2k/German. It will turn C:\temp\backup.bat into C:\temp\backup.bat.005-8.-2._ 8-44-47_61.bak 00...Posted in Macros

- I know that pasting multiple lines won't work. But there is a simple workaround. Simply have those multiple lines you want to search for selected when pulling up the Find or Replace dialog. Works for me. ManniPosted in Find/Replace/Regular Expressions

- Thanks, neo_in_matrix. Seems you can also download a precompiled dll from here: http://dev.int64.org/tidy.html I chose the tidy-dll.zip file and it seems to work ok with UltraEdit. ManniPosted in Custom User Tools/Tool Configuration

- I don't know. I tried every recommendation mentioned here and I always switched back to Andale Mono. If you haven't already got it on your system, you can download it here . ManniPosted in Editor Display

- If you double-click a warning message, Ultraedit will clumsily look for it in the output file and not in the source file. ... unless you have updated to the latest Hotfix. Yeah! Manni PS: Well. That's what I tought. It will take you to the correct file, but it isn't able to find line or columns cor...Posted in Custom User Tools/Tool Configuration
