From IDM support: If you go to Edit -> Preferences -> File Handling -> Load/Save and select Use active file directory for file open dialog default  under the  Directory Usage  section, does this give you the behavior you want? This solved my problem.

I just updated to UEX 18 on Ubuntu 18.10 Linux and the issue with OPEN file always returning to my HOME directory and not the PROJECT directory is a PITA! Is there a way to fix this? Thanks! John Script BASIC open source project manager / lead developer.
