- I've seen various posts about splitting files by line numbers, etc. but nothing about file size . For example, I have a 2.7 GB text file that needs to be split into no-larger-than 10 MB chunks, preferably each chunk ending at the end of a line. Any ideas?Posted in Scripts

- Finally got this working, after spending at least 1 - 2 hours a day for the past week trying figure it out. Uninstalled UE Fresh install Started UE to see how everything looked, shut it down Restored the UE configuration backup from the old PC Deleted the C:\Users\myname\AppData\Roaming\IDMComp\Ultr...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- My apologies, but I forgot to mention that I had already run a quick PS script to change the %COMPUTERNAME% part in the *.pui file name to reflect the new PC. I have just been back through the entire process again and it still just gives blank screen as above when attempting to open a project. What...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- One more thing. I see all the .prj files in the Documents folder on the new PC, but when I try to open any of them, I just get a blank screen as shown below. They all open fine on the old PC.Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- I have reviewed all the open files on the old PC, and the 3 folders that they are in were copied to the exact same location on the new PC. I had opened a project file a couple months ago, but there are about a dozen more files opened since then that are not in a project. I did not yet save the pro...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- I copied the entire %APPDATA%\IDMComp folder from the old PC to the new one again and still, when I open UE on the new PC, none of the files I have open on the old PC are there. Just an empty "Edit 1" file. Then, after doing the copy again , I brought up UltraCompare on the two volatile folders and...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- Thanks, as always, Mofi. Lots of great info here. Fortunately, my username on the new PC is the same as the old one, so the path to IDMCOMP is an exact match. Fired up UE and everything looks good, except all the tabs I had open in UE are not there and I can't see where those would be stored.Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- I am an All Access user and need to move everything to a new PC. I know how to back the settings for UltraEdit and restore it to the new machine, but what about the other applications? Do I have to do the backup/restore for each one individually or is there a way to do one backup/restore for all th...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- I am looking for a way to do this (automatically open files without an extension) and found this post. I am using UltraEdit version 26 x64 under Windows 10. The steps above don't work. I go through the steps above, but still get the Windows File Association Helper when I double click on a file wit...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- Hey Mofi - Just curious about your statement " You are not using projects. ". Is not a project just a collection of tabs/open files? What am I missing here?Posted in Projects/Workspace

- Thanks Mofi, but I just discovered an easy way to do this. I had that big project open and then created a new project. I clicked on "+ All open files". I then closed all the tabs I didn't need in that second project and closed it. Opened the original project again and closed the tabs that are now in...Posted in Projects/Workspace
