- Thanks for the confirm ... I did report it via email to IDM, too, and they also confirmed it. It's too bad this ended up creeping in again. The last time this happened, it took a major release to get a fix.Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- I just recently upgraded to UE17 from UE14, and in doing my first spell check on a C/C++ type file, an old bug seems to have returned. I have the spell check filter set to on and set to C/C++. Given this code snippet: // There is a misspelling here: "ghuyt" char *powq = "Another misspelling: nhswr";...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- Thanks for the info. I bought an unlimited upgrade license, so I'll have to carve out some time later this week to upgrade.Posted in Custom User Tools/Tool Configuration

- I just started using v12 and was excited to see spelling filters - I code in C most of the time and have wanted something to check comments and strings in C code for a long time. But when I enable filters and choose C/C++ and spell check C source, I still get hits on variable names in the code - it ...Posted in Custom User Tools/Tool Configuration

- Sweet! Thanks. That, along with the Line Comment Preceding Chars option will fix two of my biggest pet-peeves about UE Syntax Highlighting in Perl. It is a bonus that it will fix it in ksh, too.Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- I noticed this in v10, and figured it must be fixed in v11, but I just installed it and the problem persists: for some languages, I have more than 2 String Chars. For ksh, for example, I have ' " and `, such that all of these should be seen as strings: 'single quote' "double quote" `right quote` The...Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- Fixed! I found a message in another thread that suggested checking the Passive Mode checkbox in the Account setup ... and once I did, my file list appeared as if by magic. Hopefully someone else with a similar problem can search to find this thread and avoid the trouble I had ... now I need to regi...Posted in FTP/SFTP / SSH/Telnet

- Today I got quite fed up with not seeing my file list with my older version of UE, and had previously gotten quite unsatisfactory answers from UE support, so I just went ahead and dl'ed the latest version of UE. I didn't want to have to pay $35 to get a file list, but figured I'd wasted $35 worth of...Posted in FTP/SFTP / SSH/Telnet

- Thanks - only one uedit32.ini on my new system (Windows XP, BTW). I copied it from my old Win98 machine to the new computer, and just put it where it used to be. I checked the FTP settings in the file and everything looks good there. I created a new FTP Account, just in case, and verified everything...Posted in FTP/SFTP / SSH/Telnet

- I copied my installation of UltraEdit to my new PC and everything works great except ftp ... I can ftp files to and from a server *if* I know the exact path and name. But the FTP Open file listing is completely blank except for the entry for the .. directory. I figure I must have missed copying a fi...Posted in FTP/SFTP / SSH/Telnet

- Thanks - I grabbed all of the above-mentioned keys from my old registry and imported them into my new one, and that all went without a hitch... unfortunately, it did not fix my ftp problem. It did add UE to my right-click context menu, though, so that's good. Any other ideas for the ftp problem? Her...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- I just bought a new PC and tried copying my old UltraEdit folder to the new PC ... and most everything works. I was a little, but pleasantly, surprised. I do have two issues, though, and I'm hoping there is a quick fix. First, when I connect to a site with FTP, I can navigate the site if I know the ...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings
