- And another thanks! Just out of curiosity - is there some way to determine what command a toolbar button is tied to? Or is there a good way to search the command list other than by scrolling in the dialog box? It's easy to get a file of commands that are bound to keys, but there doesn't seem to be a...Posted in IDE (Class Viewer, IntelliTips, ...)

- I'm curious if there's documentation on the number of installs UE permits on a single user license. A friend has asked about this, and I'd prefer to point to a link on the web rather than have him (or me) ask support via email (I think that this kind of policy should be transparent to purchasers). D...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- A 'merge' operation (when talking about version control systems) involves four files, and typically occurs in a couple a of situations: 1) when you make changes to a file that someone else has also made changes to and committed those changes back into the VCS (so your modified file doesn't contain t...Posted in UltraCompare General Discussion

- Just to clarify on this, passive option would mean that this would listen to the specific port assigned. Is this correct? What happens in a 'normal' FTP session is that when a data transfer starts, client listens on an arbitrary port and tells the server what port it should connect to. Then the the...Posted in FTP/SFTP / SSH/Telnet

- Mofi: thanks for the detailed reply. But, I'm sorry that my post provoked you to put so much effort into a response. I was really just ranting about how random (and small) the limits seemed to be. It would be nice if IDM did some work to remove or increase more of these limits, but clearly it's not ...Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- But this function string cannot be used in UE prior v13.00 or UES prior v6.20 because it exceeds the maximum of 119 characters for a function string. Sorry for the off-topic mini-rant, but I sometimes wonder where these arbitrary limitations that seem to often crop up in UE come from? Who decided i...Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- Reindent Selection does very badly on pretty much any C or C++ code I feed it (it likes to keep pushing code farther and farther to the right as it proceeds down the selection - I've ask IDM support for help with that). So I thought to try the Artistic Style gadget, but it seems that the Artistic St...Posted in Custom User Tools/Tool Configuration

- I don't have a UE license, but I do have a UE Mobile license. I tried UE Mobile 17.30.0.1016 on Win7 x64 and it does *not* see the C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc folder in the File View window's Explorer tab. Of course, it's possible that the fix is only in UE and not in UEm (either by design or ac...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- In my point of view this is not a bug. That Windows redirects 32-bit applications to the directories for 32-bit applications is not the fault of UltraEdit. Yes, you are right that it's not the fault of UltraEdit, however the behavior that was new for 64-bit systems has been in place for more than 5...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- This problem has nothing to do with permissions. The c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc directory is readable by anyone. The problem has to do with UE being a 32-bit application running on a 64-bit system. In this case, the system performs a redirection of accesses to the C:\Windows\System32 directory ...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion
