- If you're not going to be able to undo an operation shouldn't it bring up a dialog warning you and suggesting you save the file beforehand?Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- I assume scripts can be triggered on file open in the same way macros can. Why not ask for the ability to change the syntax highlighting language from a script if that's not possible already. The best way to implement it would probably be a function that takes a file extension as an argument, so it ...Posted in Scripts

- I've found a way to scroll whichever pane your mouse is over regardless of where the text cursor is. I use KatMouse to scroll whatever window is under my mouse cursor. To make it work with UE's split window I needed to go into KatMouse's settings, Classes tab and drag the target icon over the UE pan...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- We are planning many new releases, powerful productivity enhancements, and a cross-platform version of UltraEdit code-named UEX. Just an FYI While it's no UltraEdit (and while I wait [impatient and petulantly] for UltraEdit for Linux), I have found a somewhat reasonable substitute. I've been using ...Posted in UEX General Discussion

- Problem with the regular expression engine is caused by wrong command UltraEdit.ueReOn; // Use UltraEdit Regular Expressions Correct would be UltraEdit.ueReOn () ; // Use UltraEdit Regular Expressions Then the UltraEdit engine will be really selected and s*e will work. - Anyone have more suggestions? Look at the links on the dina page, there's a few there that have been mentioned on this forum before (ProFont, Triskweline, Vera Sans Mono) and the wiki link at the end has plenty more suggestions.Posted in Editor Display

- I do hope UEX is a codename, it isn't an acronym (you can't pronounce it as a word, it's an initialism , you have to enunciate each letter). I don't know of another text editor that isn't pronounced as a word, and I've looked through Wikipedia's list of text editors Ok, you could argue BBEdit but it...Posted in UEX General Discussion

- Thanks for the tip codec_7. I'm still holding out on UE10 and multiline tabs was one of the reasons I haven't shelled out for UEStudio yet. I'll have to re-evaluate it, especially now the new release is out.Posted in UEStudio General Discussion

- " File Tab Color Highlighting on a per file extension basis (optional) " I like the idea of this but I don't like the way the bullet adds width to the tabs (I don't like the way tabs overflow onto multiple rows either, I prefered the way UltraEdit v10 had the arrow scrollers). Why not color the whol...Posted in UEStudio General Discussion

- I found this blog post with many suggestions in the comments. Many of which are listed with view samples at the excellent http://www.lowing.org/fonts/ site suggested by Chris. The font I am currently using which was suggested in the blog comments but isn't on lowing.org is Triskweline . Also, if you...Posted in Editor Display
