- Thank you Mofi, None of the settings in Advanced - Configuration can be changed by an UltraEdit macro or UltraEdit script. And it is also not possible to execute macros from a toolbar in current version UE v20.00.0.1054. So the macro scripts are for manipulating files and file content but not the to...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- +1 to the request of "means to change the TAB setting on the fly". I work frequently with other people's code, each with their own coding conventions, which includes indentation step. 2, 3, 4 are the most common (covers 99.9% of what I have to work with). Actual TAB characters are not allowed, but t...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- Dear Pilot, Could you elaborate on the cause and solutions? Is there an update coming up? In the past, I've gone through numerous "upgrade-to-crash" (even with UE, I must say) so this has got my attention. Like many, I can't afford much "down-time", so I hold on to my 17.xx and keep reading here to ...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- Just wanted to chime in with the "I miss the old icons" and expand on the topic with "how on earth is a change of icon appearances going to contribute to our productivity". Negatively perhaps?Posted in Editor Display

- Update and the cure: Thanks Mofi. I tried it - no change. By now, I'm in contact with IDM about this and they can't reproduce. They suggested that I get rid of my uedit32.ini file and see - no change. (I restored uedit32.ini but I lost my toolbar customizations - :( ) That got me thinking about the...Posted in Editor Display

- How do you repair the whole installation? My 15.00.0.1046 upgrade install is quite fresh (obviously). Are you suggesting uninstall & re-install? If some drawing library component were out of date, I would expect that the tab operations with dockable tabs ON would be affected just as well. I just fir...Posted in Editor Display

- Hi All, I can confirm the problem of "tab refreshes" on my system. The "refreshes" seem to go several times over each file, after just about any change of focus (I hope that I'm using this term correctly: clicking new tab, minimizing / maximizing window, closing a dialog, etc...). It happens with tw...Posted in Editor Display

- I can confirm another case. In my case, possibly relevant details are: win2k SP4, 2536x1600, UE 15.00.0.1043 and UE 15.00.0.1046 (both same problem), dockable tabs, types = multiline, close tab button = on active tab, tab colors by file spec It may happen even on active file with filename of 6 chars...Posted in Editor Display

- On a similar note (NOTE: there is a question at the end, in red ): I start all my projects either by double-clicking *.prj files or via dedicated shortcuts, to same files, with the global option "set default directory from shortcut on initial file open". I call all my "*.prj" files something like "_...Posted in Projects/Workspace

- Hi All, For you short on time guys, this is the UCF highlighting that I use. It's based on the above PSPad posting. There isn't much structure in UCF so, basically, this highlighting only groups keywords across different colours. /L18"UCF Files" Nocase Line Comment = # String Chars = " DisableMLS Bl...Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- dr: Yep, you+ue have a problem. UE syntax highlighting engine seems to be designed for white space insensitive syntaxes. It will fail in your case. Nice try with the $; regular expressions cannot be used for defining syntax tokens. I run into this myself. :cry:Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- Thanks a lot Mofi. If this is the setup that you yourself use, then I guess there is nothing simpler. :? If I understood this correctly, I end up with 5 extra files in each of my project directories: uedit32.ini (optionally renamed to workspace.ini), uedit32.mnu (optionally renamed to workspace.mnu)...Posted in Projects/Workspace
