- Thanks much. I can't get it to run in UE 20 (I can only see a dialog box being displayed in a fraction of a second, too fast to read what it says), but I'll look deeper in doing this in JavaScript.Posted in Scripts

- Hello, To build travel plans, I often need to generate a list of days like this: 03 August 04 August etc. Does UE (20) provide a native tool to generate this kind of text, or maybe some macro/script I could use? Thank you.Posted in Scripts

- Hello I got a new computer and simply moved the Windows disk to it. I did run sysprep.exe, but it failed. But anyway, everything works in the new computer, except that the registered UltraEdit 19 that I had told me the trial period had ended :-/ So I tried uninstalling it before reinstalling from sc...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- Thanks. Indeed, the status bar says "1252 - (ANSI - Latin1)". However, saving an email into a file before opening it in an editor just to get the accents right is too cumbersome. Ideally, I was looking at a utility where I could simply paste some UTF-8 and have it converted to Windows-1252 without f...Posted in Scripts

- Hello As the venerable Eudora email client doesn't support UTF-8, I need a solution to easily convert UTF-8-encoded emails to Windows-1252. However, I couldn't get UltraEdit to convert successfully through the File > Conversions option: Either UTF-8 to ASCII is disabled or nothing happens when selec...Posted in Scripts

- Hello As I keep a lot of files open in the File View > Open, I need to sort items and find which files I worked on recently. Unfortunately, this section doesn't include tabs, hence no "Modified" tab I could click on. Is there a work-around, such as a routine in JavaScript that could sort items in th...Posted in Editor Display

- Thanks for the tip. The help file only says this about that setting: Old-style window list If this option is selected, open files will be dynamically listed at the bottom of the Window menu based on the order in which they were opened. If this option is not selected, open files will be listed here, ...Posted in Editor Display

- Thanks Mofi for the tip, but it unfortunately doesn't solve the issue: Even when docked out, it's not possible to reach the files at the bottom of the list that aren't shown :-/ Currently, the work-around I use is to get the list through Window > Windows, but the files are sorted by name or path, no...Posted in Editor Display

- Thanks for the tip and sorry about the confusion. After checking "Enable tiling/Dockable tags" in the Windows menu, I could successfuly move the Open Files tab to the left, and files seems to be sorted by date so the most recent files are at the bottom. Thank you.Posted in Editor Display

- Hello I currently use the Open File Tabs because windows are listed by their creation date, with the most recent files at the end. But when too many windows are open, the upper half gets clutered, and I would rather use the File Tree View instead: ultraedit.openfiles.png However, the File Tree View ...Posted in Editor Display
