- Mofi, My COBOL wordfile file looks identical to the one downloadable from page User-submitted wordfiles for UltraEdit/UEStudio , direct download: COBOL . Here's a sample COBOL program : **************************************************************** * This program demonstrates the fol...Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- Mofi, I only use Eclipse with Java, so I cannot comment on C++ behavior. Thank you for pointing out the Function List view. It is far superior to the method I had been employing of finding all and then searching for the method declaration.Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- I edit COBOL files in UE on occasion, but the Function List view doesn't seem to work. I see the various divisions and sections, but no procedures/functions. Do I miss something? My COBOL files do get highlighted, so that's okay. There are just no list of procedures/functions in the Function List .Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- Mofi, I use UE version 2022.0.0.102 64-bit. I use traditional menu (no ribbon). I do not use a UE project. I tried turning on all IntelliTip items, but that didn't help -- you didn't claim it would help, I'm just reporting my finding thus far.Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- Hi! I have a Java file open in UltraEdit. It is syntax highlighted correctly. In Eclipse, and likely most other IDEs, when I hover over a method name and hold down the Ctrl key, it becomes a dynamic hyperlink that, when clicked, brings the cursor to that method in the code. Is there an equivalent ke...Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- Mofi, Thank you! I made a custom json _appname .uew as suggested and it works like a charm. Greatly appreciated. Oh -- and you were correct -- I was editing the program files version of the JSON file, i.e. "C:\Program Files\IDM Computer Solutions\UltraEdit\wordfiles\json.uew", and that's why it fail...Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- If you edit the syntax highlighting wordfile wordfiles\json.uew and add CONFIG to the File Extensions it should automatically interpret it as JSON file? File Extensions = JSON CONFIG I tried this, but it didn't work. It would have been too broad for my preference anyway. Manually choosing the view ...Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- There is a way per IDM's Troy: Hi Jerry, Thank you for your message. If you select "JSON" in the status bar where "No highlighting" [or "XML"] is shown, then this file should be highlighted as a JSON file, and you should then be able to use the JSON manager to parse this file. Thanks, TroyPosted in Syntax Highlighting

- Thanks. Sadly, I can't rename the file to .json because it's used by a 3rd party package and must remain named with a file extension of .config I'll submit an enhancement request to IDM.Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- Hi! I have a JSON formatted file, but its file extension is .config and not .json. How do I view a .config file in the JSON manager? If I rename the file to *.json, then the JSON manager recognizes it and I see the tree view and so on.Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- Using version 20.00.0.1040, how do I see the parsing percentage indicator in the status bar? I load a 3 gig text file, and get not responding and no status bar update. The file does load, and faster that previous versions, but no progress in the status bar as it loads. Am I missing a config setting?...Posted in Editor Display
