I think the best truetype font it the HVEdit package (http://www.procon.com.au/HVEdit.htm). It is far clearer than any of the others and also comes in three different widths. For small point sizes the high visibility HVRaster font is better still (http://www.procon.com.au/HVRaster.htm).
