- Licenses for cross-platform software apps are usually separate for each platform (look at many Linux games, for example). However, this is VERY welcome news since I've long fully switched over to GNU/Linux. Those "zealots" don't demand everything be free, but they do admit they prefer open source ap...Posted in UEX General Discussion

- A very handy feature was added in 12.10, Search > Edit Bookmarks. But in the Key Mapping section of the Configuration dialog, there's no way to add a keyboard shortcut for this feature. Since I would use this Edit Bookmarks dialog quite a bit, having to navigate the menu to get to it gets old. [Repo...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- stejfish, I agree with you. There is always one little thing that is essential to using and liking a program. The NetCaptor browser has several small usability features that are not in Firefox's extensions nor Maxthon's plugins, for example. CTRL+click to select is a great suggestion, and if you hav...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- I'm able to undo past the Save point. Possibly you have an Advanced setting enabled. Go to the Advanced menu, select Configuration, scroll all the way to the bottom of the General tab, where you'll find an advanced option that reads: "Delete original file before saving the file." Uncheck that. Also ...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- Yikes, where were you guys when we were all yelling for new icons for the past several years? Quite a few of them are essentially unchanged, but I'll take the new any day.Posted in Editor Display

- UltraEdit 11.10, UEStudio 05, brand-spanking new icon set, man, it's good news all around! It's great to know that even after I buy UEStudio, that UltraEdit will live on and keep getting stronger. (For my non-programming writer-friends, UltraEdit is their lifeline.) Thanks for covering all the detai...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- This fool finally got it, thanks Palou and everyone. I'm grateful! Just for reiteration, here's how mine looks: "C:\Program Files\NetCaptor\NetCaptor.exe" "http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&lr=&newwindow=1&q=define%3A%sel%&btnG=Search" MENU ITEM NAME: Google Define SAVE ACTIVE FILE: Checked...Posted in Custom User Tools/Tool Configuration

- Followed your exact instructions and it only produces an output error. Am I missing something? Error message reads: 'C:\Program' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.Posted in Custom User Tools/Tool Configuration

- It puts the Tool icon there, but it still doesn't work. It's not that big a deal. It's just handy as heck in EmEditor and I wanted it in UE. Thanks again Manni.Posted in Custom User Tools/Tool Configuration

- Monospace? Monospace? We don't need no stinkin' Monospace! For writing, not coding, I use Frutiger Next LT, a highly readable screen font, and looks just as good when printed.Posted in Editor Display

- Ah, so the proper code is: C:\Program Files\NetCaptor\NetCaptor.exe http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=define%3A%sel%&btnG=Google+Search and the entire word must be highlighted. Now if I could just connect it to a toolbar button... Thanks for the tip, Manni.Posted in Custom User Tools/Tool Configuration

- Not quite, but closer. Okay, if I go to the Advanced menu, Run Windows program and type C:\Program Files\NetCaptor\NetCaptor.exe http://www.google.com/search?q=define: at least I can get halfway there, getting UltraEdit to open the Google Define page in my browser. (Substitute Firefox.exe or iexplor...Posted in Custom User Tools/Tool Configuration

- I tried that and it just chokes, mainly on the (CurText) part. I'm sure someone can figure it out, maybe post a sample Tool Configuration dialog. Either way, this would be a handy tool for writers who use UltraEdit to have.Posted in Custom User Tools/Tool Configuration
