- OK, here is v2 that is a bit more flexible in dealing with nested tags. To use it, put the cursor in the first tag (don’t select it or copy it) and run the macro. It will still select only to the first close tag, but each time you re-run the macro (control+m) it will expand the selection to the next...Posted in Macros

- Hi Bulgrien, No, that doesn't work - ^s means "selected text", but only in UltraEdit expressions, not Perl/Unix regex, which <DIV[^>]*>([^ÿ]*?)</DIV> otherwise needs. I did test it though, it doesn't work: InsertMode ColumnModeOff HexOff PerlReOn Find RegExp "<\^s[^>]*>([^ÿ]*?)</\^s>" Rob :)Posted in Macros

- Hi All, I am trying to create a macro to select a HTML tag. E.g. if I select the first "a" and run the macro with this text: <a href="blah"><b>some text</b></a> the whole tag (including angle brackets) will be selected. I am aware that macros can't loop, so it wouldn't work for selecting the outer s...Posted in Macros

- Hi Mofi, Thanks for the investigation - it is truly appreciated. I will send in a feature request. I think it would be very useful to have one keyboard shortcut to switch between "editor" window panes only and another to switch explicitly to other panels, like File View, Function List etc. Rob :)Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- Hi all, I am aware of F6/Shift+F6 as a way to switch between split panes within a single document, but what about switching between panels in the split panels function (UltraEdit v15+) - where you can drag different documents to different .. panels? viewports? :) http://lh4.ggpht.com/_jwApeiH4frk/S2...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- UltraEdit has also a switch to force a new instance, it is /fni which must be the first command line parameter Nice one Mofi! So, either of these work ok (as long as you have their install directories in your path): SVN_EDITOR="notepad++ -multiInst" SVN_EDITOR="Uedit32.exe /fni" Rob :)Posted in Custom User Tools/Tool Configuration

- Also, you can leave out --editor-cmd notepad.exe if you set the SVN_EDITOR environment variable. Interestingly, I tried setting SVN_EDITOR to UltraEdit, but it didn't work. SVN looks for the editor process to end before taking the contents of the file you have just edited as a comment for the checki...Posted in Custom User Tools/Tool Configuration

- Hi jeblackburn, This is what I do. Make sure this is NOT selected: Menu bar > Advanced > Alternate Capture Method Now to set up my SVN tasks.. This one will bring up Notepad so that I can write in my own comment (and then save Notepad and close it). - Hi All, Well, it works for me now after I replaced ^r^n with ^p - even though I could see multi-line functions ok, it was several single line functions that were not displaying! I made a further correction to the function strings so that they pick up Generics (Java 5+). /Function String = "%[ ^t]++[...Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- Hi All, Mofi's function strings here solved this problem for me too. However, in UltraEdit 15.00, it isn't picking up /** * {@inheritDoc} * @see javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagSupport#doAfterBody() */ @Override public int doAfterBody() throws JspException { return EVAL_BODY_AGAIN; } Any ideas on how th...Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- Hi All, If you don't want to change the current cursor position, you can also use bookmarks - which can store cursor position if you go to Advanced > Configuration > Editor > Bookmarks and make sure "Bookmark column with line" is checked. From now on, a bookmark will remember the particular cursor p...Posted in Scripts

- Hi All, So far UltraEdit 12 is great. :) One issue that I have noticed however is that when I am using a dialog such as find and replace, the keyboard shortcuts seem to be overridden by macro shortcuts. When I use find and replace I often use Alt+i to select "Replace Where - Selected Text", but now ...Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion
