I assume you're refering to the latest version UltraEdit. This is not possible, even in UE 14.20 RC1. However multiline file tabs are available in UEStudio 6.x, along with the option to have the tabs at the top or bottom of the screen. Cheers... Frank

This isn't possible, even in UE v14.20 which I'm currently running. The closest you can get is by turning on the file tab colors option, which displays a small color triangle across the top left corner of the file tab. You'll need to put an enhancement request to IDM. Cheers... Frank

You can disable tabs in muliple rows by right clicking on a tab and making sure that the Multiline tabs option is unchecked. That way they will scroll as they do in UltraEdit. Cheers... Frank

If you do an ASCII FTP of the EBCDIC file into UltraEdit, it will automatically convert into clear text. Alternatively, if you already have the binary EBCDIC file on your PC, simply select the File/Conversions/EBCDIC to ASCII option from the UE menu. Cheers... Frank

I don't think you can do that in a FTP client. It's the function of the FTP server to determine how long to keep an unused client connection open. Cheers... Frank

I regularly edit MVS source files (mainly assembler) in Ultraedit, using the Ultraedit FTP client to transfer them. In your FTP account settings, do you have the server type defined as MVS. I've just upgraded UC to 5.10 and the problem still exists. In UES I have an MVS host defined as a server type of MVS with a list command filter of *. ...

Have you tried setting the server type to Auto? I've found the same problem with accounts defined for MVS. It works OK in UE, but if I set the server as MVS in UC, it doesn't handle the MVS dataset (file) names corectly. But when I set the server type to Auto in UC it does process the names properly...
