- 1) Windows definitely isn't updating the timestamp on the rails' development.log. In Windows Explorer, I have to click on the file name to have the timestamp refresh. Very strange. Editing the file in notepad or UEStudio, the timestamp updates immediately. Not sure if this is a windows or ruby issu...Posted in UEStudio General Discussion

- By the way... if you really want to use a regular expression, you certainly can: PerlReOn Find Up "<" Key LEFT ARROW Find RegExp "(?s)<([A-Z]+)[\s,>].*</\1>" (?s) < ( [A-Z]+ ) [\s,>] .* </ \1 > (?s) tells the regular expression to include newline characters when matching a . wildcard < matches an op...Posted in Macros

- In Perl (?<! regex ) is a zero-width negative lookbehind which means a match will only occur if not immediately preceded by the specified string. The reason why (?<! regex | regex | regex ) doesn't work is because the | (or) operator short-circuits whenever the evaluation is true. If the preceding v...Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- Have you tried: /TGFindStr = "^(\u+)\>(?<!(EDIT|END|GRID|OPTIMIZE|PROPS|REGIONS|RUNSPEC|SCHEDULE|SOLUTION|SUMMARY))" Sorry if it doesn't work..., it is an untested guess. :|Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- Wordfiles are here: http://www.ultraedit.com/downloads/extras/wordfiles.html The mumps wordfile, specifically, is here: http://www.ultraedit.com/files/wf/mumps.uew But this wordfile is not the one discussed here. None of the users really needed that updated MUMPS syntax highlighting wordfile sent th...Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- I agree with pietzcker... email IDM and ask for an enhancement! In the meantime, Mofi mentioned a possible work-around if you only have two "begin with" strings you want to ignore... You can put one value in the "begin with" field and the other in the "contain" field. The "contain" field will ignore...Posted in Text Compare and Merge

- If you don't mind an initial edit to the file, you could do it this way: Top Clipboard 9 CopyFilePath Paste ClearClipboard Clipboard 0 Find Up "C:\MyDocs\MyApp.log" IfFound Delete ...your macro code here... Else SelectToTop Delete EndIf Not very elegant, but it should work. The downside is that it w...Posted in Macros

- What exactly do you mean by "merge differences"? Do you always want to insert lines that are different into the other side? (That is what UltraCompare calls a merge) Do you want to overlay lines that are different on the other side? Are the files sorted? If you are wanting an automated 3-way merge, ...Posted in Text Compare and Merge

- I understand the frustration of the original poster. However, in the computer industry, "New" almost always has the connotation of starting with a clean slate. You don't choose "New File" in Word to save the existing file, for example. To change "New Project" to leave files open by default would be ...Posted in Projects/Workspace

- The only feature I think we miss in Ultraedit is display of vertical lines for tabs if necessary as seen in Notepad++. Check this image to see what I am talking about http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/commun/screenshots/scrsh_lexerJava.gif While I agree with others in this thread that indent guid...Posted in Editor Display

- Thanks Mofi... Somehow I must have dropped the "END SUBROUTINE" from the wordfile which caused the whole IF structure to fold correctly but did not allow for folding the subroutine. Ignoring "ELSE IF" statements is not ideal, but it appears to be the lesser of two evils. Perhaps we'll see some impro...Posted in Syntax Highlighting

- There is no need to ignore "ELSE IF". The folding rules I provided should work best. The real issue with the original wordfile was the use of "THEN". My solution doesn't fold on "THEN".Posted in Syntax Highlighting
