- Is there a way to have the "recent files" just show the file name and not the entire path? Some (of my) paths are rather long and make menu maneuvering a bit akward. Regards, Chuck BillowPosted in Configuration/INI Settings

- I just downloaded the 5.00+3 hotfix for Ultra Compare and I cannot get it installed. I keep getting a message that UC_ShellExt.dll is in use. I tried starting in Safe Mode and that didn't work. How do I get this done? Regards, Chuck BillowPosted in UltraCompare General Discussion

- Is there any advantage or disadvantage of using the "old" format? Will the item below make any difference when just editing straight text? >>Write UTF-8 BOM on new files created within this program (if above is not set) - (On)<< Regards, ChuckPosted in UltraEdit General Discussion

- I'm having a problem understanding the config settings to edit registry entries. I understand that they aren't text entries (anymore), but rather Unicode. Is that UTF-8 or 16? And what is the "No BOM"? And If I open a reg entry, when I go to save it, the "Save As" box shows the format as "Default".....Posted in UltraEdit General Discussion
