If the window of UE is too small to display all icons of the toolbars, they will be displayed if you click on the small arrow.
But - there is difference in behaviour.
- The "original UE toolbars" are displayed correctly with name, icon and description, both normal and shrinked.
- my personal toolbars (with user defined tools) shows in shrinked mode only the name ("Tool 5"), in normal mode they show the name of tool 5.
It is an issue reproducible also with UES v18.00.0.04 and UltraEdit v25.00.0.68 which should be reported by email to IDM support for improving code of UltraEdit and UEStudio to take this special use case for user/project tools in toolbar also into account.
Here is the issue report send by me to IDM support by email with subject: Name of user tool not displayed in popup menu of a truncated toolbar with user tool command
A user detected and reported in forum that the user tools are not listed with their menu item names but with their internal command names in popup menu of a truncated customized toolbar with one or more user tool commands.
Please do following for reproducing this issue with either UE v25.00.0.76 or UES v18.00.0.04:
Switch from ribbon mode to toolbar/menu mode with traditional menus.
Click in menu Advanced on menu item Tool configuration.
Click on button Insert and enter as menu item name Directory List and as command line just DIR and then click on button OK.
Right click on displayed toolbar and click on Customize....
Click on tab Toolbars and check HTML user tools.
Click on tab Commands and select category All commands.
Click in Commands list and press key U until User tool 1 is selected in the list.
Drag User tool 1 to end of the toolbar HTML user tools and close the toolbar customization dialog window with button Close.
Decrease width of UltraEdit main application window on right side until the last two symbols of toolbar HTML user tools are not displayed anymore on now truncated toolbar.
Click on small down arrow of customized toolbar HTML user tools and the popup menu opens with the two commands which are not displayed in the truncated toolbar:
HTML protector
User tool 1
There should be displayed Directory List instead of User tool 1 in the popup menu.
Displaying the internal command names of the user and project tools being displayed in a truncated customized toolbar in the popup menu instead of their configured menu item names is of no help for a user who wants to
run a user tool.
This issue could be reproduced by IDM support and was added to issue tracking system as an enhancement to be considered for a future release according to received reply.
