UE is specified as default html editor. But if I open source from IE, the file opened in UltraEdit doesn't have syntax highlighting like if I open a html file.

How can I get it to do that for all files. Or at least for files from IE as its the default editor.

    thanks

Click on the Open button at Advanced - Configuration - Syntax Highlighting dialog to open your wordfile in UltraEdit and close the configuration dialog with Cancel.

Now search for the definition line for HTML. For default wordfile.txt in UltraEdit's program directory it is:

/L3"HTML" HTML_LANG Nocase Noquote Block Comment On = <!-- Block Comment Off = --> File Extensions = HTM HTML SHTML HTT HTX CFM JSP PHP PHTML ASP *

At end of this line add a * as shown above and save the file. Now all files without file extension or a file extension not found in the wordfile are highlighted as HTML by UltraEdit.
