Hi there,
I have used UltraEdit for more years than I can remember and now use UEStudio at work to edit various web related files, normally live on ftp / ssh servers.
I downloaded the UEStudio '09 update last week but it has introduced some major changes to the ftp interface and it's not all nice.
'Remembering' last file path on ftp accounts should be optional. Here is why and how it used to work before...
2 servers, www and staging. 2 ftp accounts.
File in /httpdocs/inc/ called functions.inc gets changed on "staging".
You used to be able to do "ftp save as", pick the "www" account and the file would get written CORRECTLY to path /httpdocs/inc/. Should the 2-nd account lack the required directory structure, it complained and notified you.
Now, it will open / write to whatever directory/folder was last worked with on the www account, meaning if you were editing a file in /httpdocs/styles/css/ under "www" then this is where it will go to. You then need to navigate to the right path, wasting time and in danger of causing an error. Sometimes you have to work with files that are 5-6-7 levels down the tree structure, you get the idea...
I am still on a trial for '09 and as much as I like the rest of the changes, this particular one is causing me too much grief - are there plans of changing this back to how it used to behave? Otherwise, we may have to revert back 6.50.
Thank you in advance, perhaps I am missing some options somewhere...
