I live in the UK so I have a keyboard that does not contain accentuated characters. However, I'm French and in my language, there are a lot of accentuated characters.

Some simple text files can be ReadMe.txt files where I'd like to be able to write in French.
Without suggesting that UltraEdit becomes a word processor, it would be useful to have an equivalent of MS Word "Insert Symbol" were all the accentuated characters are. Also, a keyboard shortcut could be useful for that (e.g. Ctrl + ' + e = é).

For insert symbol function use View - ASCII Table. Most of the accentuated characters are at the end of the table. Assign a hotkey for ViewAsciiTable or add this function to a toolbar if you need it often.

You can also use a set of macros, stored in one macro file and set this macro file as autoload macro to assign often used accentuated characters to hotkeys. The macro for example for é contains only an é and nothing else and this macro has the hotkey Ctrl+e.
