    Can UltraEdit group bytes in 1, 2, 4 or 8 byte groups?
    i.e. char, short, long, and long long?

      It is possible to change the number of HEX characters per line in the General Configuration dialog (UE must be restarted to take effect), but the displayed byte order will not be changed, as I expect you also want.
