Is there a way to have the gutter column display in gray like in UltraEdit version 10?

do you mean the ruler at the top ?
I think you only can change the color of the numbers (10/20 ...).
They have the same color like line-numbers (set in the view, color - menu).

Normally using all newest english version incl. each hotfix. Win 10 64 bit
Hi, thanks for the response but I mean really the vertical column in which you can see the line numbers. I attached a screenshot to show.
Ah, that's easy ! 
It's menu "Ansicht, Farbeinsellung, Hintergrund Zeile/Spalte".
maybe in English version sth. like "view, colors, background line/col".
