    how do I correct the issue where the editor has positioned itself half off the screen?

    OS = Windows 7

    I don't have access to any of the menus, I have already tried a forced shutdown via taskmanager, but upon reopening the software the editor is still off screen

      UltraEdit never moves itself half off the screen.

      If you are using Windows 7/8/8.1, click on icon of UltraEdit in Windows taskbar to make UltraEdit the active application.

      Now press and hold WIN key, the key with the Microsoft Windows logo.

      Press additionally LEFT or RIGHT ARROW key to move application window of UltraEdit in the corresponding direction in large jumps.

      Leave WIN key when standard position is reached.

      Most likely you have used this feature of Windows accidentially as you wanted to press Alt+LEFT or Alt+RIGHT.

      BTW: Alt+F4 usually exits active Windows application. So no need to kill an application via task manager if window of application is not visible.

        I actually ran over the same issue this morning. However, WIN+LEFT or WIN+RIGHT was not working.
        I had to:
        1. open the task manager,
        2. find UltraEdit,
        3. right click on it,
        4. click on Maximize to make it appear.
