In older versions, to clear the contents of the search box (in the toolbar) I would click into the search box and press Ctrl+A to select the contents, and then delete. Now, pressing Ctrl+A selects the contents of the document, not the search box. This is not only annoying, but also quite dangerous as it's too easy to delete the document contents.
