I am in the process of moving from Windows to Linux Mint and I want to continue using UltraEdit. I've downloaded the Ubuntu trial version, but cannot find any of the configuration options. I need to set things such as "use spaces instead of tabs" and backup location. There is no Advanced or Settings anywhere that I can find.

How do I find the configuration? Or is it not available on trial versions?

Thanks!

I do not use UltraEdit for Linux or Mac. But I can remember from other posts that the menu item / command name is Preferences in Linux/Mac version of UltraEdit as being more typical for Linux/Mac applications than Settings or Configuration as in Windows applications. Well, nowadays many Windows applications have just a gearwheel symbol or a symbol with just three horizontal lines which must be clicked to open the Settings or Configuration or Preferences window (from user interface layouts of mobile phone apps).

The pages UltraEdit for Mac features and UltraEdit for Linux latest changes list also Preferences. The page UltraEdit Linux complete feature list does not contain the word Preferences. The menu Edit should have the menu item Preferences according to the power tip page Changing the default file browser in UltraEdit for Linux.

There should be viewed also the UltraEdit Mac/Linux power tips.

Thanks! I had to dig into the Edit menu, but then I found Settings and went to Preferences. Settings only appeared after I changed my screen resolution from 1920x1080 to 1920x1600.
