We have a two user licence.

We would like to keep the toolbars defined on one machine synchronised with the other. How can it be done?

A simple registry export from one and import to the other DOESN'T seem to do it?

Are the toolbars stored elsewhere? I couldn't see any likely files inthe UE main directory...

Vor v11 of UltraEdit the current toolbar settings are stored in ini-name.tbr, the menu in ini-name.mnu and the key assignments in ini-name.kbd.

The location if these 3 files is ALWAYS the location of the ini. The ini is default uedit32.ini, so the toolbars are stored in uedit32.tbr, the menu is stored in uedit32.mnu and the key assignments are stored in uedit32.kbd.

If you want to be able to modify the menu and toolbar on every machine, you should also synchronize *.mfg (menu templates) and *.tfg (toolbar templates), which are also stored, where the ini is.

Don't ask, where to find the ini. It is described in help and several times in the forums. Search for this information by yourself.

Tip: Move all these files to UltraEdit program directory as I have done years ago. This would help a lot to have both installations always synchronized and the installer during update find the files automatically also in UltraEdit program directory and does not generate new setting files during installation.

Since I use the Registry rather than an INI file, why does the INI file still get updated?

Because of history reasons, UltraEdit still searches for the ini-file. After opening the ini, it finds the entry, that the settings are stored in registry and will ignore most of the other settings in the ini.
