    Hello -

I've been using UltraEdit for a number of years, and have never had a problem when upgrading. With v12, however, I have a couple of issues:

    1. Is there a way to reset all of my menu items to a "Factory Default"? For some reason, when I first fired up UE 12, I had no menu items. Although I greatly appreciate the power of being able to customize my menu, it would be nice to start from a default instead of having to bring in each item manually.

    2. It seems that no matter what I do, I cannot get my recent files to show. It definitely shows "Recent Files" in my list of things that are on my menu, but the actual menu doesn't show them. I have the max number set to 16.

    Thanks.

First make sure you have the correct menu you want - Advanced or Basic - see Configuration - Toolbars / Menus - Management - Management. You can Reset the Advanced and the Basic menu to default in the management dialog. I never used the Reset button. It's also possible to reset the Advanced and Basic menu by deleting the files Advanced.mfg and Basic.mfg in the directory of uedit32.ini while no instance of UltraEdit is running. UE will create it again at next start.

Second check the settings at Configuration - Toolbars / Menus - Management - Miscellaneous, especially if Recent files list on File menu is really enabled/disabled. Best uncheck it, press Apply button, check it again and press again Apply or whole vice versa according to which setting you prefer.
