I have not installed UltraFinder, but I suppose the user configuration is stored in files in the directory
%APPDATA%\IDMComp\UltraFinder.
I suggest to rename that directory to
UltraFinderBackup while no instance of UltraFinder is running with
Windows File Explorer or any other file manager application. Then start UltraFinder which creates the directory new and all the files inside using the default settings. If that solves the problem, reconfigure UltraFinder to your requirements and finally delete the directory
UltraFinderBackup.
Otherwise on problem remains also with the default configuration, download the latest installer of UltraFinder from the
UltraFinder downloads page. Then uninstall UltraFinder
without license deactivation and restart Windows to complete the uninstall. Next install UltraFinder again. Delete the directory
%APPDATA%\IDMComp\UltraFinder from the former attempt to get UltraFinder working with the default settings. Start UltraFinder and look if it is working now with again created new directory
UltraFinder in the application data directory. If UltraFinder is working fine now, reconfigure UltraFinder to your requirements and finally delete the directory
UltraFinderBackup.
If UltraFinder 2024.0 is still not working despite the complete uninstall and reinstall of its program files and letting latest UltraFinder create the application data files new with the default settings, you can only report this issue on your machine with an email to UltraEdit support. I recommend adding a screenshot of UltraFinder after the start created by pressing
Alt+PrtSrc (copies the image of only active window into clipboard) and stored into a PNG or WEBP image file. There should be attached to the issue reporting email also a ZIP or RAR archive file with the entire directory
%APPDATA%\IDMComp\UltraFinder. The email should contain also information about the Windows PC like version of Windows as shown on clicking on Windows
Start button, typing on keyboard
winver and executing suggested application
winver.exe, the type of Windows theme (light or dark), the screen resolution and the DPI value.
