    I am new to Text Editors and would like to purchase a book showing me how to use a text editor properly.

      But I can't tell you how to use a text editor.
      I need to know for which reason do you need it?
      Programming in C++, Pearl, HTML, Java, Assembler or ...?

        having a book about UltraEdit would probably be a very good idea. It's what Joel of Joel on Software did and it looks like it paid off.
