Is it possible to remove selected files from Recently Opened?
Left click file in list one time to select and then right click and select "Remove Selected items" from popup menu.
Recently opened/closed files cannot be removed selectively from the list displayed on ribbon tab File from the list Recently opened or the list Recently closed. It is also not possible to selectively remove files from the submenu Recently opened or the submenu Recently closed in menu File in toolbar/menu mode with contemporary menus. The same is true for the submenus Recently opened files and Recently closed files in menu File in toolbar/menu mode with traditional menus. If a recently opened/closed files is left clicked in one of these lists which does not exist anymore, the user is informed with a message box about the not anymore existing file and the clicked file name is removed from the list.
There can be opened the File lists view by checking on eight ribbon tab Layout in third group Lists on the first check box item File lists in second row in ribbon mode, or clicking in menu Layout on the menu item File lists in toolbar/menu mode with contemporary menus, or clicking in menu View in submenu Views/lists in submenu Lists on the menu item File lists in toolbar/menu mode with traditional menus. The File lists view has by default two file lists: Favorites (can be files and also folders) and Recently opened files. There can be more user defined file/folder lists added by the user by right clicking into the free area of the view below the existing file lists and use one of the context menu items of the File lists view. It is possible selecting with left mouse button one or more file names in the Recently opened files list, then right click on one of the selected file names, and left click in the opened context menu on the context menu item Remove selected items. A dialog window is opened asking for confirmation and the file name(s) is(are) removed after clicking on button Yes (single file name) or Yes to all (multiple file names). There is no Recently closed files list in File lists view of UltraEdit for Windows v2025.1.0.31. The list Recently opened files is displayed in File lists view only if there is at least one file name in the recently opened files list.
There is at Advanced - Settings or Configuration - Toolbars / menus - Miscellaneous the button Clear history which clears (nearly) all histories including the recently opened/closed files histories.
