I have the UltraEdit Professional Text/HEX Editor (x64)  Version 22.20.0.49 configured to SFTP/SSH a known Linux host on two different laptops both running Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise Version 10.0.19045.

One of the laptops successfully connects as expected for Browse SFTP, etc. but the other crashes UE with the following event log:

Faulting application name: uedit64.exe, version: 22.20.0.49, time stamp: 0x56705acd
Faulting module name: wodFtpDLX64.dll, version: 3.5.0.723, time stamp: 0x55faa154
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x0000000000172423
    Faulting process id: 0x2720
    Faulting application start time: 0x01da1103553244cb
    Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\IDM Computer Solutions\UltraEdit\uedit64.exe
    Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\IDM Computer Solutions\UltraEdit\wodFtpDLX64.dll
    Report Id: 61f5b632-55ee-4e3c-b3a3-fd6fe79fa86f

I've tried importing the settings from the working laptop but same results.

You'll need to pass that information on to IDM support at [email protected] as this is only a user to user forum.

      Cheers,

      Frank

It is strange that there is no crash on the other computer with same version of Windows 10 and same version of UltraEdit and same version of the DLL file wodFtpDLX64.dll. Perhaps the DLL file is corrupt. I recommend copying this file from the computer where the SFTP feature works to the computer where it does not work.

Well, the used version of UltraEdit as well as the used version of the DLL are pretty old which is always very problematic on using FTPS or SFTP because of security standards and security related libraries and applications changes permanently. If the SFTP server is not as old as UltraEdit and the used wodFtpDLX64.dll, I really recommend thinking about an upgrade to currently latest UE with currently latest wodFtpDLX64.dll, see the wodFtpDLX release notes. The file changes.txt of currently latest UltraEdit 2023.1.0.23 (30.1.0.23 in former version numbering scheme) contains also several information about enhancements and fixes related to FTP/FTPS/SFTP.
Best regards from an UC/UE/UES for Windows user from Austria

yeah, very strange.  I didn't copy over but the md5 hashes are the same for all wod* files on both machines.  I didn't expect a difference anyway since this is an enterprise distro through SCCM.  Unfortunately, upgrading isn't an option for me at this point.

UltraEdit support provided an updated wodFtpDLX64.dll version 3.6.1.788 that solved the issue.
