    I'm working locally and for the same time remotely from an XRDP session, using the same user account.

    When I'm starting UEx in in the XRDP session, it either hangs or crashes the XRDP session. (Depends on UEx running or not in the local session.)

    It only works fine when I log out the local session.

    I think, it should be possible to use 2 instances of UEx at the same time. At least, the remote session should not be crashed by UEx.

      I am using only UltraEdit for Windows. But UltraEdit Linux complete feature list contains the list item:
      • Support for optional multiple instances
      The word optional is interpreted by me that starting more than one instance is not possible by default and this feature is not available on all Linux distributions.

      UltraEdit for Windows has in Configuration at Application layout - Miscellaneous the setting Allow multiple instances which is by default not checked.

      Has UEX running on Ubuntu such a setting in Preferences in the meantime?

      This configuration setting can be overruled with using either command line parameter /fni (force new instance) or /fno (force original instance) on starting UltraEdit for Windows.

      The UEX command line switch is -fni according to forum topic Start new UEx instance as posted by me three years ago after reading new feature tour after release of UEX v16.1 in year 2016.

        Thanks,
        I will look for the switch.

        However, after another Linux Update, I get following behaviour:

        Step 1: Log into LXDE locally
        Step 2: Remote Login from Windows/Remote Desktop via XRDP-session
        Step 3: Start UEx in XRDP-session  ==> Crash of the XRDP-Session

        I'm not an Linux expert, don't know why a simple user process is able to crash my session. Maybe some weird interfaces of the GUI are used by UEx. Never seen this behaviour before.
