- The new quick find feature has some nice tricks, but PLEASE don't mess with Ctrl-F! We've been using it for 30 years and like it just fine. The following sequence of keystrokes has GOT to work, regardless of what new features come out: Hit Ctrl-F. Type search_text <enter> (possibly followed with ESC...Posted in Find/Replace/Regular Expressions

- This one bit me again. I lost the SSH / Telnet window by some misfortunate clicking/dragging/double-clicking event. Again, on a laptop in a dual-monitor setup. After much head-scratching, finding this page, and turning off the second monitor (Win-P opens "Projector" controls in Win 7...handy!), I wa...Posted in Editor Display

Enter codes above 128 and you'll probably get various non English charac...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- I take my laptop home and access our network via a kinda-pokey VPN. If I have dozens of remote files open, then the File Change Detection is painfully slow and frequent. So, I turn it off after it bogs down a few times. Hopefully I remember to turn this fabulous feature back on when I close most of ...Posted in Configuration/INI Settings

- I've been using UltraEdit for over five years, and absolutely love it. I use it for all kinds of things, but 80% is editing Perl code. I'm evaluating UEStudio '06. I see lots of neat-looking tools for the C++ crowd, but not so much for perl. As I see it, UltraEdit and UEStudio offer about the same l...Posted in UEStudio General Discussion
